[RP journal for Leila of Ostia (Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken) for
memento_eden. Maintained by
veredly_inferno. Fire Emblem is owned by Nintendo and Intelligent Systems.]
Character Name: Leila
Character Series: Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken
Age: 26 (not explicitly stated in game)
Background:
((Note: Considering that Leila doesn’t appear that much in the game, the beginning is made up.))
Leila never knew her parents. She was born and raised on the streets, growing up as part of a decently-sized gang in one of Ostia's major cities. She quickly found that she had a knack for finding out information, and with that, rose to prominence in the gang. When it dissolved when she was fourteen, she became a freelance sort of spy for a year or so. One of her jobs was for a lord of one of Ostia's houses. After she completed that, he recommended her to Lord Uther. She got the job and rose among the ranks, becoming one of the best in Ostia's employ.
She met Matthew, another spy in the service of Ostia, during this time. He seemed jovial and happy-go-lucky, but she saw past the mask. There were other spies, yet he was the one she could share her hopes and dreams with. On the surface, they seemed to be simply fellow spies. It ran deeper than that, though. Neither of them would say they loved the other. After all, love wasn’t for spies. But they cared, and they trusted, and their bond was strong enough that nothing could break it.
Fairly recently, she was assigned a mission to infiltrate the Black Fang, a group of unknown assassins. She worked her way up the ladder there rather quickly, and soon was able to pass guarded information back to Lord Uther. Even one of the Black Fang’s leaders praised her for being very skilled. When the Fang attacked Caelin and wounded the Marquess, Leila was ordered to make sure he dies. Instead, she saved his life, but they didn’t know that. Here was also where she met up with Lord Hector (Uther’s younger brother) and Lord Eliwood of Pherae and Lady Lyndis of Caelin. She reported the necessary information to them.
Here was also where she saw Matthew again. They hadn’t seen each other in a while. Matthew dropped a few hints of marriage, but he left before there was anything conclusive. That was the last time she saw him.
Soon, she returned to Valor to continue her work. When she overheard some important information, she planned to report back to Uther. However, she was caught in the act. She was killed immediately after by the assassin Jaffar.
Personality:
Leila’s strength is knowing when to act, and how. She’s a little bit cynical, but then again, she’s a spy, and she’s infiltrated the most dangerous group on the continent. She also can be somewhat snarky. When she’s on the job, she’s very business-like and professional, and due to the dangers of the job, alert at all times. Because she doesn’t willingly open herself, she seems somewhat hard to befriend at first. Though she has a wide network of acquaintances, there are few she can actually consider close friends.
She is very thankful for her rationality. As a spy, that helps her figure things out. She also has incredible talent in espionage, as she is one of Ostia’s best spies, even at her young age. Her career in espionage also mandates other personality traits, such as looser moral standards, the ability to keep a secret, and good acting kills. Alertness and perceptiveness don’t harm any, either. When she is presenting her findings, she is always concise and on-topic.
She presents the very image of sleekness and self-assuredness, though she is not cocky. She is somewhat more informal when she is around people she knows well, such as Matthew.
She would be more relaxed in the RP than in canon, since here, she doesn’t have the spying job to worry about.
Item Lost: Her memory of being killed.
